The SC500XL towbar folding ramp carrier is a mature and robust product known for its exceptional quality. It includes full-function LED lights with a 7-pin flat plug, a number plate light, and pre-drilled holes and screws for attaching your licence plate.
The carrier is supported by a heavy-duty 2" hitch tube with 4 bolts and a safety pin underneath, allowing for easy removal from the carrier. The hitch tube includes a 5/8" hitch pin hole for securing the carrier to your vehicle and is compatible with class III or IV hitches.
A welded handle on the ramp facilitates easy folding and unfolding. Tie-down straps can be secured to any of the 10 tie-down holes along the tall ramp sides, which also feature carrying handles for convenient handling during installation.
Both the SC500 and SC500XL models share the same parts and load capacity, differing only in size: the SC500 measures 120cm x 70cm, while the SC500XL is 150cm x 84cm. (All photos on this page feature the SC500XL.)

Integrated 2-Section Ramp:
The ramp can be folded up and out into three different positions:
1. No-Load: Keep the ramp folded flat against the carrier surface and secured with a spring pull pin for storage.
2. Loading: Unfold the ramp to allow scooters or power wheelchairs to be pushed or driven up the carrier.
3. Loaded: Position the ramp upright when a mobility device is on the carrier, secured vertically with a spring pull pin.
Important Notes:
1. Ensure your hitch is a 50mm x 50mm (2") square hitch and that the distance from the hitch pin hole to the rear edge is less than 15.5cm, as this is the distance from the hitch pin hole to the tray when folded up. (A spare tyre on the tailgate may interfere with the carrier.)
2. Never stand on the carrier or ride a scooter on it.
3. Consult your local tow bar specialist to ensure your tow bar can support the weight of your scooter and the carrier.
4. Always comply with local Road Transport Authority regulations for using the carrier.
5. Verify that the carrier is large enough for your scooter. The length should accommodate from the front wheel to the anti-tilt wheel or rear basket. (Loading the scooter backwards can help avoid interference from rear bags or baskets.)
6. Not all cars are compatible with this carrier. If your car is too small or the hitch is too low, the carrier may touch the ground. Ensure your car is large and high enough to use the carrier properly.
